Twitter

 

Twitter is mobile social software that lets you broadcast and receive short messages with your social network.  You can use it with SMS (sending a text message to 40404), on the web or IM.  Friends, family, and co–workers use Twitter to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?  It has also been called "microblogging" because of the text limit of 140 characters.
